Abstract:Iris kashmiriana belonging the family Iridaceae, is found commonly in graveyards Kashmir region India, as well some areas Pakistan. This plant used a traditional medicinal by different local communities. Ethnopharmacological studies have revealed presence isoflavones like isonigricin (1) which new isoflavone isoirisolidone (2) Irisolidone (3) were isolated first time from natural source. emphasis this review focus on uses, pharmacological phytoconstituents present species. But species critically endangered also. By exploring more about species, it might help getting least concern or prevent being extinct. Scientific investigation has that lot activities antimicrobial, antitumor, anthelmintic, immunomodulatory, antiseptic, antioxidant, also cold, flu, malaria, joint pain, anti-inflammation, toothache, etc. contains several constituents, including isoflavones, with them are still not been fully explored yet.
